Levying and Collecting Fines in a Community Association with Secrets to Effective Collection of Delinquent Assessments- This class will offer a discussion of proactive approaches for collection of delinquent assessments which may mean fewer homeowners in arrears and the association in a stronger financial position. We will look at 5 secrets to collecting assessments and discuss using the association’s available legal remedies as the most successful tools for the association to collect delinquencies. This class will also discuss the minimum requirements in order to validly assess monetary penalties (aka fines), legally proper methods to collect fines from owners and alternative options to pursue enforcement of violations (e.g. suspending voting rights; suspending rights to use common areas/facilities; exercising self-help; ADRE complaints; injunctive relief lawsuits, etc.). A free fine schedule will be provided to each attendee.
