Dear Cyber-Followers:

The Arizona Legislature adjourned Sine Die in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 7, 2016 after an 18 hour marathon day!  The last formal day the Arizona Legislature was in session was an all-night voting spree.  In fact, during their last day, Arizona lawmakers voted on more bills than they passed in the entire 116 prior days and sent more than 100 possible new laws to Governor Ducey for consideration!

Between May 4 and May 7, 2016, the Arizona Legislature sent four (4) bills to Governor Ducey pertaining to community associations (SB1449, SB1498, HB2106 and HB2382).  It is very likely that Governor Ducey will sign into law all four of these bills this week.

Click here for our summary of all bills that have been signed by Governor Ducey or are on his desk awaiting his signature and link to the summary.

This week we are also sifting through the 100 bills passed on Friday and Saturday last week during the voting spree to make sure that there are no other community association related bills that were resurrected at the last minute and passed in the flurry of activity late last week.

The effective (or start) date for all bills signed by Governor Ducey will be August 6, 2016.  Our firm is in the process of formalizing our 2016 Legislative Update and we will provide it to our clients, followers and friends either later this week or early next week.

Stay tuned, this is going to be an exciting week!
