Dear Cyber-Followers:

As you may know, the Arizona Legislature started the Fifty-Third First Regular Session on Monday, January 11, 2016. Almost 800 bills have been introduced already. The Governor and legislative leaders are focusing on the budget.

Our firm anticipates that there will be numerous community association bills introduced this legislative session. We will keep you in the loop and informed via our “Answers Blog” regarding the content and status of all community association bills during the legislative session.

Mulcahy Law Firm, P.C. is already closely monitoring eight bills that directly pertain to community associations. HB2382, pertaining to amendment of a declaration in a condominium or planned community, HB2106, giving a 30 day enforcement grace period to owners for violations regarding the condition of their property and SB 1140, a revised “chicken bill” from years past are the most problematic at this point in my opinion.

Every week during the legislative session, Mulcahy Law Firm P.C. will provide a summary of proposed bills impacting community associations. You will be able to view the current summary by going to the firm’s website, click on the ‘Publication’ tab and scroll to Legislative Updates. You will find “2016 Legislative Updates” with the current date.
Stay tuned; It’s going to be an exciting year in the Arizona Legislature!
